make your own
back to the Bat Wing

A great rainy day group activity. Bugmallows are fun to make, and fun to eat.

Send us digital photos of your bugmallows, and we'll post them in the Bugmallow Hall of Fame!

What you’ll need :

• popsicle sticks
• a bag of large marshmallows
• assorted candies (try gummy worms, licorice laces, candy buttons, nonpareils, etc.)
• Assorted crackers, chips, cookies (chow mein noodles, potato chips, mini pretzels and mini pretzel sticks, etc.)
• Your creativity. Search your own kitchen for buggy ingredients—with your parents’ permission, of course—and go batty!

What to do:

1) Push a marshmallow onto the end of a popsicle stick.

2) Think about your bugmallow—what do you want it to look like? Add legs, wings, eyes, antennae, and other buggy features, using your gathered food materials.

3) Take a photo and send it to the Bats at the Beach website, and we may just add your bugmallow to the Bugmallow Hall of Fame!

4) Now enjoy your bugmallow. Yum!
