Bats at the LibraryWriting Exercises

•  Write a short story to go with the upside-down book the bats read during storytime.
•  Write and perform a play using shadow puppets on an overhead projector.

•  Write a review of an insect guide book—from a bat’s point of view (i.e., does it make a good cookbook or food guide?)
•  Where else could the bats go for a nighttime adventure?  Write down three activities which would be different at night or upside down, and do a drawing of one of them.

Points to ponder:
•  What topics might bats research to learn about the world as they see it?
•  What other kinds of guide books might bats like to read?
